1\Initial Fixation (Metal Clamp Assistance)
Select tooth #7 (typically the second molar): Provides a posterior anchor with insufficient adjacent support. The metal clamp creates a temporary stable fulcrum.
Apply wing technique: Thread the rubber dam sheet through the clamp’s wings, ensuring tight adaptation to the gingival margin to prevent leakage.
2\Place distal-extension Clamp
Utilize tension from the stabilized dam sheet to engage the distal--extension clamp onto the premolar.
3\Remove Metal Clamp
Confirm secure clamp placement and full coverage of the operative field, then remove the metal clamp.
4\Post-Removal Check:
Verify dam stability. If loosening occurs, press the dam edges with a blunt instrument (e.g., mouth mirror handle) to reinforce the seal.
